Seymour James Elected to ABA Board of Governors

Seymour James was elected to the American Bar Association (ABA) Board of Governors for a three year term during its Annual Meeting.

The 43 member Board of Governors has the authority to act and speak for the ABA, consistent with previous action of the House of Delegates, when the House is not in session. The Board oversees the general operation of the ABA and develops specific plans of action.

Seymour is a long time member of the ABA who has served in the House of Delegates and on the Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary and the Standing Committee on Legal Aid and Indigent Defense.

He is a former president of the New York State Bar Association and the Queens County Bar Association and a former Attorney-in-Chief of The Legal Aid Society in New York City.

Congratulations, Seymour, for this tremendous honor.
