Statement from Partner Bruce Barket:

Judge Stack was a giant in the legal profession, a lawyer when women didn’t do that, a tall, powerful, intimidating figure on the bench who every lawyer knew to be fair and tough. One showed up prepared in her court or didn’t show up at all. Once in her presence, you knew there was no better place to be and not a better judge to preside over your litigation.

Personally, she was kind, generous, and thoughtful. “The judge” as she was known at our firm, could be seen giving advice to our most experienced lawyers on a complex legal matter one minute and chatting with a member of our staff about their family the next. She was uniquely brilliant and compassionate. We who were lucky enough to know her well, loved her. We were honored that she chose to end her career associated with our firm. We are deeply saddened by her passing, we will miss her tremendously and extend our condolences to her family.
